Its mum, dad and 3 girls, I am very excited, and VERY nervous!!! Any suggestions would be awesome, i dont mind telling you i am so utterly terrified! And excuse the lateness of my comments on your blogs- I have just read the whole Twilight series for the last 5 days, i seriously need to catch up on sleep:) but it was so worth the sleep deprivation, so thanks Kimber!!

Not Me Monday

Courtesy of MckMama

I am not still dealing with a bum/poo obsession (Jai) his latest saying is not “ Ill put you in the poo bin” and I do not giggle every time even though it makes no sense!

We did not –finally – get Rani’s loft bed cut down, so she finally has a bed. We moved in 6 months ago, and of course we have not made her sleep on a mattress all that time.

I did not see this out the window this morningsleepin!

and I was not thrilled that I was seeing the sunrise ( well, almost) and not the moon.

I have not taught Fatboy to cuddle me tight and shiver , and say “its cold” . He does not do it constantly, it is not completely adorable:)

I did not plan a big family weekend that ended up with me driving for 3 hours, only for everyone to get sick.I did not come home very disappointed. We did not plan ANOTHER picnic today. It did not RAIN! I have not resolved to try again next week.

I did not , instead of picnicking, buy Jai a new bike (yay for stock take sales) and I do not get a little thrill watching him ride it!newbikeI also….did not read Twilight (finally) and did not love the book. I did not then watch the movie and do not have a small crush on, no not Edward, haha, Jacob:) I did not buy the 2nd book today, and will definitely not probably stay up all night reading it. (hello, I get up at dawn, Im sleeping right now)I will not force hubby to go buy me #3 on Wednesday!

I do not have a babylegs problembabylegsno matter what you say:)

We do not have dads ride-on mower here. Fatman  is not obsessed and does not insist on sitting on the mower for hours at a time.

In which I profess to be far from perfect.

And I am definitely not. perfect that is. Not that I ever claimed i was! The question i am most asked is “how do you do it?” You wanna know the answer?

I don't know. I just do it.

Having 5 kids is not easy. But neither is having 1 ! I think i struggled more with just 1 than now with all 5. As I got older, I became more relaxed, and more confident as a mum. And now, well you know what? I may not be in a high paid position, or seeing the world (or even working in any sort of paid job at the moment) but I LOVE my job, and I'm doing the best job i possibly can.

Not that I'm saying I'm a perfect supermum, far from it. Most days I'm in my dressing gown until lunchtime, I'm screaming at the kids all the time ( mostly just to be heard over the constant roar that is my house), and there are days I just wanna scream “ BE QUIET AND LEAVE ME ALONE” ( ever tried to go to the toilet with a kid on your lap, 1 screaming at your feet and 2 more banging on the door that the screaming one shut but cant open? No, well, take my word for it, its not fun) but not a day goes by where there is not some moment, a tiny thing, like a note from the  2nd born, or a hug (gasp) from the elusive pre-teen,or that cheeky grin from #3, or a dead ant from the big boy, or watching the 18 month old dance, to remind  me that i have been blessed to be given the honour of being their mum. And on bad days, all I can do is tell them I love them, always, and promise myself Ill do better tomorrow.

Yes, we struggle on one wage. We have always struggled. I have been a SAHM since I was 16, I have had (4) part time jobs over the last 10 years, but just couldn't do it. When I was working, I was too exhausted to be the mother I wanted to be. So we made that decision. I don't think my kids miss out on much, and hubby has always worked very hard to support us. He has been at his job for 10 years, and its good to have the security, but yes, when we spend $225 (Australian) on food a week, struggling is a reality (hence the crapped out cars we drive ,lol)

Another struggle has been PND. I have had depression since I was 15. The only advice my doctor can give me is “ Give up breastfeeding, and go back on your medication” Which, as I would like to have another baby in the near future, seems pointless. Oddly enough, taking photos helps me. Since I have started photography, I appreciate the small things so much more. So I will go out in the yard with the kids, kick the ball round, sit on the grass and photograph my beautiful, amazing, talented,  strong-willed, crazy, loving babies. And feel so happy:)

Blogging has become my journal, complete with pictures! I always wrote when I was a teenager, but after an ‘incident’ which I may go into later, I never did again. But now, I can combine my journal with  my pictures, which i LOVE! And I love my friends I have made on here, and reading your comments, knowing that virtual strangers think my photos are good, makes me happier than you would know:) (And Im almost peeing my pants that I have 50 followers-happy dance, happy dance)

Ummm, not sure why Ive gone with the long rant post tonight. Im tired and emotional, need a time out:)

Wait…

I forgot something…

Its coming to me…

Oh yeah…

babylegs

Didn't think you'd escape the babylegs did you?

And just because she's beautiful, and has gone to her first high school dance, and I'm so excited and proud..mulletman

And I look a bit awful, but my eyes are open. Oh yes, i have eyes:)

Since I've gone nutso tonight, anything else you wanna know? Ask away!

Ps. Thanks, my followers, and commenters, and friends, you make me smile everyday:)

Babylegs Anonymous

My name is Lisa. I'm a babylegaholic. I've  had a problem for about a year now. I cant stop. If i don't get my babyleg fix, I have withdrawals. The worst part is, I have NO intention whatsoever of stopping.  I force my affliction onto other people, and force my son into a fashion statement that, although he loves now, will surely come back to haunt him.

babylegs1

Aaaah. Just one more? I promise, just 1 more so  I can go to sleep.

babylegs2

Again, im very sorry. Just be aware there is two more pairs you haven't been forced to look at over and over seen.

Did I mention that this morning when I drove hubby to work, we had to wash the ice off the windscreen? No? Well we did. And it sucked. Big time. Then the cheery 5am radio guy goes (in an obscenely chirpy voice for 5 in the morning-what are you so happy about at this ungodly hour?) “its minus 1 quite cool, hehe” Well. That explains why my hands are numb. And its the 2nd week of winter. Happy days ahead:)

This little guy

bailey

is going home tomorrow. ill miss him, but have realised that 3 dogs make too much crap for 1 yard (grin- but really, its gross). He was a very good portrait  subject though:)

And just to prove Luka still has a head and is not just some weird leggy creature

See? The Fatboy is much more than a pair of legs!

11 on the 11th

Since yesterday was Wordless Wednesday, I missed my beloved 10 on the 10th. Therefore, I have adapted it to today (that gives me another photo-and you know i love photos!

Luka was up early, again. How early you ask?

uptooearly

See that little round ball, not even close to the horizon? Yep, thats the moon. Let me set the scene. Its 5am, freezing cold, pitch black, and Luka is prying my eyelids open .  “Muhhm . Muhhhm. Muhhhm. MUHHHM!!!” (he says it with a ‘h’ in it. Its so cute!-luckily!) So I drag myself up, throw on my dressing gown (yes, jeer if you will, but its oh-so-warm) make Luka a bottle, myself a coffee, look outside, at the MOON, and wonder WHY he HAS to get up SO early EVERY day?! Then I looked at what he was doing.

lukareads

Aaah. A boy after my heart. Reading. And I thought ( as I have  before) , that it may be early, but Fatboy is always amazing first thing in the morning, and I love being up with him, before the rest of the world wakes up:)

As soon as it gets a bit chilly ( it doesn't get that cold here, we don't get snow or anything-I've  never seen snow- but its HOT most of the year so its probably just that we are big sooks)  we bring out the bedsocks

kotessocks

Now, yesterday, I warned you. I warned you I was waiting on a package.

package

4 pairs of Babylegs. You know what that means. That I will be forcing you to look at too many pictures Of legs, and leggings, and youll all be sick of me posting pictures of fat baby boy legs, covered in leggings, running, jumping, climbing, sleeping (not that legs sleep but you know) etc. Sorry. If its any consolation, he probably wont let me force  his chubby boy legs into leggings and everyone always goes ‘are they leggings?!dress him in them for much longer. He loves them at the moment, when i put his new ones on he went ‘Whoo, hoo’ like I always say:) But he objects to knee high socks. Anyway..wait for it. the first of many…

babylegs#1

I love those fat little toes! And, along with the babylegs, you may have noticed i bought cloth nappies! I have used the old towelling nappies, you know the ones you have to fold yourself? But after 5 kids, hopefully only a few months of nappies left, I'm trying them! Luka wasn't sure. How, exactly, do you get them to stop ripping them off?

clothnappy!

But ill admit, they look gorgeous!

newnappy2

and no, i dont know what that is under the lounge. Its gone now, i just checked! All right, last one, promise!

babylegs3

Aaaaah thats a good babyleg fix. Moving on…

Dragged myself to Target, for new pyjamas for all 4 bigger kiddos. Found this

scooter

on the stocktake rack ( they are cleaning out the shop for the toy sale) marked down by $200. Score! Happy really really early birthday Rani (its in December)

Poor little Fatboy has the flu-again (hopefully not swine flu, but my kids are pigs-hey, have you seen their room?)  and is sleeping early. So here I am, blogging, about to put kids to bed, watch a movie (horror- I love ‘em) , then catch up on blog reading.  Poor snotty, snoring Fatboy, in his flannelette pyjamas.fatboyhandsAnd the other noisy monsters. Cant forget them!

kiddos

Goodnight from the monsters!!
