by demand- I aim to please!
Ankle biter : noun, small child.
(The Ankle biters are driving me crazy)
Arvo : noun, afternoon
( Are we going to see you this arvo?')
Barbie : noun,Barbecue. Similar to a cook out, a barbie is a popular way to get together with friends in the warmer months of the year. (Not to be confused with Ken's girlfriend)
( Mate, come over this arvo and we’ll have a barbie)
Banana Bender: noun. Name given to Queenslanders (me- and yep, its probably an insult- we are the most laid back state of all)

What a great post. I love it!
I knew "barbie" because I've been to the Outback Steakhouse restaurant chain. Yup, I'm cultured like that.
Love it! We say ankle biters too, but can't say we use any of the others. Can't wait to read more words of the day!

I am most certainly NOT changing that...I'll take it somewhere--it sux though!! stupid screw!!
well bed time for me!!!
Post something so I can read it in the am :)
anklebiters!! i call my kids that. i also call them my children of the corn (although i haven't actually seen that movie so i'm not sure exactly *how* inappropriate that is). thanks for the recipe; i was going to make chocy biccies tomorrow but instead i will make smartie ones. here is my FAVORITE mac n cheese recipe.
3c. uncooked macaroni (i use whole wheat macaroni)
1 can cheddar cheese soup (i use campbells)
1/2 can of 2% milk (using the soup can)
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp dill weed
1 tsp pepper
4 squirts worchestershire sauce
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
boil macaroni. while mac is boiling, put soup, milk, and spices in small pot and slowly warm (not boil). take off heat, mix with mac and put in 8x9 pan, cover with grated cheese.
-bake at 350 (180 for you) for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted.
-serve with garlic bread (yum!!)
**adding beef makes it so good it should be illegal: while mac is boiling and soup is heating, brown 1 lb ground beef. add 1 package taco seasoning and 1 cup water, simmer for 10 minutes or until sauce is thick. mix beef, mac noodles, and soup and put it in the pan and cover with cheese. bake as above.
